Good morning students
Welcome to another Spanish blog.
I hope all of you enjoyed the PPT on Spain and it's autonomous communities. I am also expecting that you are doing your homework on time.
Today we are going to learn alphabets in Spanish.
So, without wasting anymore time, lets start with today's topic
First of all, take out your Spanish register and write the heading on top, write date and day.
Then note down the learning outcome for todays class
Learning Outcome :
After this class -
1) I will be able to tell the number of alphabets in spanish
2) Learn Vowels and consonants
3) pronounce all the letters.
4) Pronounce words in Spanish
5) Sing Spanish alphabet songs
6) Tell at least 2 words with each alphabet
Los Alfabetos or Abecedario
➤ Spanish is written with the same 26 Latin letters as we use in the English alphabet, plus CH, LL & Ñ for a total of 29.
➤ Spanish has the same 5 vowel like English : A, E, I, O & U
Let's look at this alphabet chart and attentively check the sound of each alphabet.

I hope you enjoyed the pronunciation in spanish.
You know what is the best thing about Spanish language ?
Its the pronunciation which is very very easy. In English language we have so many exceptions in the pronunciation.
For ex :-
The sound of the word " CUT" and "PUT" are different.
In "Cut" - the alphabet "U" sounds as "Aa" or "अ"
whereas in "PUT" - the alphabet "U" sounds as "OOH" or "उ"
We do not have any apt reason to pronounce "U" differently in English.
Similarly, we do not have proper reason for why the vowels in English sound differently in different word.
But in Spanish, the pronunciation of all the vowels is always the same.
You have to pronounce the word the way you see it.
For example :
AMIT is pronounced as अमित in Hindi but it will sound as आमित.
Similarly Rajasthan will be pronounced as राज|स्थान
Important : Alphabet "H" is always silent in spanish.
Now I want all of you to read all the letters aloud once again.
Very good, Now that you have read the letters, I want you to listen to this alphabet song in spanish.
Now I want you to watch this Spanish alphabet songs
Click ➤➤https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5MJbHmgaeDM
Practice singing with the song for at least 3 times.
Very good.
[Note : Ch (che) and Ll (elle) are also considered letters of the Spanish alphabet, however in 2010 the Royal Spanish Academy (RAE) decreed that these letters would no longer be treated as separate letters in dictionaries.]
Important : Alphabet "C" and "G" has two sounds
Note down separately all the rules to pronounce "C" and "G".
Important notes on Spanish Letters
- The letter "e" is also pronounced at times more like the "e" in "pet," especially when at the beginning of a word, or when spoken quickly.
- When a "g" precedes an "e" or an "i" in a word it is pronounced like an "h" but with a slight rasping sound, almost like clearing one's throat.
- Words beginning with "k," "w," and "x" were adopted into Spanish from other languages and are therefore very rare.
- The letter "Ñ" is not a variation of "N," but a different letter.
- The letter "v" is officially uve but it is also called ve. Because ve and be sound so similar, "b" is sometimes called be grande, be alta, or be larga and "v" is called ve chica, ve pequeña, or ve corta.
- There are at least four ways to say the letter "w" in Spanish: doble ve, doble u, doble uve, or uve doble. The "w" is extremely rare in Spanish.
- There are many Spanish words borrowed from indigenous languages where the "x" is pronounced like the English "h" (e.g. México).
- The pronunciation of the letter "z" (as well as "c" when followed by an "e" or an "i") varies widely.
Home work Exercise :
1). Make the alphabet table in your notebook.
2) Write 3 words with each alphabet with meaning and memorise all the words.
3) Learn Spanish alphabet song.
